Event, Travel and Accommodation Updates
The Wedding Ceremony and Reception will take place on Friday, October 17th, 2025.
We will be hosting a Welcome Event in central Florence the evening of Thursday, October 16th, 2025.
We will also be hosting an "Arrivederci Dinner" in central Florence the evening of Saturday, October 18th, 2025.
The exact location and timings of the Thursday and Saturday events will be updated and shared in the near future, but we wanted to be sure you had a sense of the overall schedule of events in order to book flights.
While we'd LOVE to see you at all three events, please don't feel the pressure to attend if timing doesn't permit. With so many wonderful people coming from all over the globe, we wanted to be sure we had a chance to see and talk to each and every one of you and we're hoping this "spread" will help us to do just that. We'll be requesting RSVP's for all three events within the invitations.
Whilst we love all of your little ones, please note that all three of these events are adult-only affairs.
We recommend booking accommodation in central Florence, and if it's your first time in the "city of lilies" - we recommend staying north of the river to catch all of the sites more conveniently. While you'll be hard-pressed to walk more than 15 minutes to any destination, basing yourself close to the Duomo or Piazza della Repubblica is our recommendation (and 5 minutes apart by foot!). We'd advise you to steer clear of the area immediately surrounding the train station, and please note that accommodation south of the river will add 10-15 minutes to your walk.
There is no shortage of hotels and AirBnB's in a wide range of price points within the city. Having been there now many, many, MANY times, don't be afraid to try some of the smaller, non-chain hotels which are often more conveniently located in the center of the city due to their size. As always, check the reviews, folks! And do look for options with A/C (and send us all of the positive sun vibes while you're at it.)
We will provide transportation to and from Dimora Ghirlandaio on Friday. The exact location for pick-ups and drop-offs is still being worked on, but it will be within central Florence (north of the river).
Florence has a small airport (FLR) with connections to several major European hubs (London, Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid). The airport is a 20-minute taxi from the city center, and also connected directly to the city via tram.
Additionally, Pisa Airport is an hour's drive (1-2 hour train) from Florence and is served by both EasyJet and Ryanair. It's worth noting that Pisa (PSA) is a larger airport and flight searches often direct you there, so here's your gentle reminder to check your airport codes unless you want to do a quick pitstop at the Leaning Tower...
For those coming from within Europe, Florence is also very accessible via train! You can hop on a direct train from either Rome or Milan every 20 minutes or so (travel time is usually around 1h45m). We recommend using Trainline to book those tickets.
